I have been praying about our website and the internet in general for a few years now and I am just about to begin my first, ever, scientific, caluculated experiment as to how we do what we do on the web.
There is something to be said about strategy. Some churches and ministries see the web as nothing more than a glorified space to advertise. I however am beginning to believe it is so much more. I know there are some amazing folks who are way ahead of the game and that I might be just catching up to them, but more and more as I look at this thing called the web, I see MINISTRY!
“I SEE SEEKING PEOPLE”
And the web is quickly becoming much more than ad space. It’s more than consumeristic, capitalistic posterboards and it should not be used for high school popularity contests. There are real people who are in need of relevant conversation out here. It is the new mission!
We are a new kind of missionary. We can truly reach the world. Not that the web can take the place of the Body of Christ and its real relationships, but it can enhance and even encourage a new kind of honesty and a new kind of conversation.
So, I am about to do some really fun stuff that you probably won’t see, but what spurred this is an influx of people who are looking for conversation who have been visiting and contacting from literally all over the world. They come from Spain, Hawaii, Canada, All over the mainland US, Africa, Asia, Russia and many more places worldwide. Maybe later I will send a list and the conversations we have are great, so I want to take a moment to re-encourage conversation and to re-commit to the world of internet communication.
