Awakening

After studying Revivals, Awakenings & Visitations of GOD for the last 13 years & praying for the next move of GOD for the last 10 years, I find myself at a very interesting place. I want to share this thing that’s burning in my heart for all of us. I don’t usually do this kind of thing and I am very skeptical about placing this on the internet, however, if this sparks something in you, it has done its job. If you read this post and think it strange, please don’t simply throw it out. Place it on the shelf of your heart and maybe it will mean something later.
I stand here having climbed this mountain, near HIS Presence and look across at the valley and then the land on the other side. The land looks GREAT! On the other side, there is Unity, there is Community, there is Expression in Worship, there is Creativity as Worship Expression, there is Passion in the young, there is Dreaming in the old, there is the Presence of GOD wherever a couple believers are together, there is excitement, there is power, there is forgiveness, there is cleansing, there is purity, there is fruit in abundance, there are gifts, there is healing, there’s a message, there is Compassion for the poor, needy, broken, downcast, misfit, forgotten, transient, outcast, outsider, hurting, wounded, disenfranchised, disabled, orphan, abused, hated, unlovely and the very nearness of the divine rule and reign of the Almighty.
I can see the other side. There is reconciliation. I can see the other side. There is family. I can see the other side. There are friends. I can see the other side. There is a resting place for GOD’s Presence. I can see the other side. I can see it.
Awakening
Yesterday I awoke. Today, I am awake. Things are changing in our little Tapestry. GOD has come. And over the next days as fire spreads and passion and compassion come, church let’s pray. As GOD comes, come reverent, come patient, come expectant, come head bowed. The church has been long sleeping and now the cry of the Father is, “Wake up little one. It’s time to get up.” And like a child, I want to jump up, ready to spend every waking moment with my Father. I can’t drink in enough of HIM.
Church,
Your Father is coming to hold you, however child, know your place.
Your Teacher is here to prepare you, but apprentice, never take HIM for granted.
Your Groom is coming, yet, it’s time to prepare ourselves, Bride, It’s time.
Time for prayer, time for harvest, time to rise up, time to wake up, time to heal up, time to raise others up, time to stay up, time to bind up, time to connect, time to tell, time to show, and almost time to GO. Going in power, going with passion, going with HIS eyes, HIS mind, HIS heart, HIS Spirit.
Come Holy Spirit.
He is here.
GOD has come. But, church, this is not yet time for celebration again, but tears. The wake up call is for the intercessor. You see, I can see the other side. It’s lovely, it’s beautiful, however, the giants are still in the land. Let us go forth with prayer and humility and take this land.
Intercessors. Pray, Worship, Weep, have tears again. Seek. GOD is at hand. Cry out, “Give us souls!”

Frequently Answered Questions
1. Where did the name Tapestry come from?
In October of 2003, Lori, Bobby Chung and I were batting around names for our ministries at the church where we all served. While there, the staff and leaders always knew that at some point, we would be planting a church and were open to us starting the church as a service on Sunday nights. So, all we needed was a name.
I liked Mosaic, but when we researched on the web, we found that there was already a church named Mosaic in California. Since this was the case, we did not want to simply copy another church’s idea and name. We really felt that the church name should reflect our personality, so we prayed. I felt like the theme we needed to think about was, “broken or torn pieces, woven together, creating a beautiful picture.” From there, Lori was talking to her dad on the phone, and somewhere in the midst of it, Lori got the name Tapestry! Within seconds, I KNEW IT WAS GOD’s HEART! the Tapestry was born!
2. Why would you start a new church? There are enough churches in the world, why start a new one?
3. Why Vineyard?
Because of John Wimber. In this day and time, even many of the Vineyard churches and young are saying that it’s time to move on and start
4. Why did you guys Trademark the name?
5. What are your plans?
6. Why do you use funny body terminology instead of the Baldridge Model terms?
7. When did the Tapestry actually start?
We started as a church on Sunday, June 6, 2004. Which by the way was a funny anniversary in 2006! We started our planting services, or trial services in January of 2004. Sunday, June 6, 2004, we had a few people come to see what church would be about and when we began our actual church services the next week at the Ramada Inn on Rockville, Pike, we had a total of three and a half members! My first sermon was preached to empty chairs, Lori, Daeho and myself. I preached on why GOD called us to start and how if no one ever came, we would still keep going.
Lori and I cleaned out our savings in a matter of the first year to make the church happen. We paid $300 per week to meet at the Ramada Inn until we went to Twinbrook Elementary School because up until that point, there was no where else that would allow us to meet.
